Volunteering time and skills can be just as valuable a gift as money to charities and communities and is also excellent for colleague development. This is why our volunteering programme is available to all Agency colleagues (subject to Agency proprietor’s approval).

How You Can Get Involved

As a retail network we can work together to help children and young people build important financial skills. Through our programme ‘Money Minds©’, colleagues can deliver easy to use lesson plans to 5-19 year olds in schools and youth organisations. The resources also include promotional materials and template letters for approaching schools.

You can find out about Money Minds and other skilled volunteering opportunities as well as team challenges on the Community Hub. The Social Purpose & Sustainability team can also support you with ideas, opportunities, resources and risk assessments to get you all set for volunteering.

Volunteering hours are at the discretion of proprietors, subject to the operational needs of the business. Hours should only be granted where it is feasible to facilitate requests without unmanageable negative impact on the business.

Business Benefits

Volunteering isn’t just about helping the local community, it’s about helping colleagues develop skills and feel proud and happy in their role too. Getting involved is an excellent way to achieve personal development goals and our skills matrix can help colleagues identify the right activities for them. For example, Money Minds© is great for developing presentation and communication skills.

Volunteering also enables you to build relationships with organisations and schools in your local community, can generate positive media coverage for your business and positively impact on your reputation.

Don’t forget our Media Relations Team may help generate some press coverage, so if you have a good story please get in contact.
